Weather shaping up to be a perfect fall weekend

Early October is always a special time to fish on the First Coast, peak flood tide season. The fall king tides bring tailing reds and cackling rails. This weekend the weather and tides are perfect for a morning cast and blast trip out on the flats.

13th Flounder Pounder tournament is this weekend

As the father of a young son newly-diagnosed with autism, Chip Davis was determined to give him the full, rich life that he deserved. While he couldn’t change the biology, he vowed to ensure Tyler had access to the resources necessary to navigate the world.

FWC meeting canceled

Fall bite is starting in NE Florida

The fall bite is just starting up here in Northeast Florida. Our water temps haven’t dropped much yet, but the short ending days and north winds have kicked off the mullet run and the annual migrations.

FWC to host Florida State Fish Art Contest

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), in partnership with Wildlife Forever, has announced the 25th Anniversary Fish Art Contest. Students in kindergarten through 12th grade can compete in this free contest for a chance to win state and national honors and prizes.

Tocoi Creek High School Dance Team supports pet food pantry

Students from the Dance Team at Tocoi Creek High School are providing the human power needed to support pet owners challenged by the rising costs of pet food. A remote pet food drive is scheduled for Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pet Supplies Plus, 206 Ashourian Ave., Suite 108, St. Augustine.
