JB Pop Warner team places second at nationals

The Jax Beach Pop Warner Junior Varsity squad went to the Pop Warner Nationals Dec. 8, placing second. There are 28 members on the team, ranging in age from 10 to 13 years old. The team has 11 scholar-athletes with GPAs of 96 percent or better. The squad's head coach is Hollie West.

FWC approves rule to modify shortfin mako bag limit

At its Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 Commission Meeting, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) approved a rule to set the Florida state waters recreational bag limit for Atlantic shortfin mako at zero.
