Black drum bite has been great

The fishing has been incredible the past week, with action from the creeks to the ledge. It’s been breezy with brief windows to get offshore, but the bites have been wide open on the days you could fish.

FWC, Destin–Fort Walton Beach hosting Lionfish Festival

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and Destin–Fort Walton Beach will celebrate the ninth annual Lionfish Festival May 20 and 21, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Central Standard Time) at AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar and HarborWalk Village in Destin.

Florida vs. Florida State baseball game postponed

Gator Bowl Sports, along with the University of Florida, Florida State University and ASM Global, have postponed the Sunshine Showdown baseball game at 121 Financial Ballpark due to weather concerns surrounding today’s game. The game will now be played Tuesday, May 2.

Local Freedom Boat Clubs receive top honors

Fletcher softball wins 18-0

Fletcher High School's Varsity Softball team triumphed over Ed White March 21 at home. Three Fletcher players combined to hit five home runs to seal the victory.The final score was 18-0.
