Iconic rappers, southern rock legends and more highlight Blue Crab Festival

The Palatka Blue Crab Festival has announced its full entertainment line-up and other details for the event at the Downtown Palatka riverfront. This year’s festival will kick off Friday, May 26, and run through Sunday, May 28.

Grouper fishing is incredible

May in Mayport. Mahi, grouper, cobia, kingfish, tarpon, the waters around us are full of life, and the fishing is incredible. The grouper fishing the last few weeks has been as good as I’ve seen it in years, with the scamps and gags both chewing.

Fletcher Middle School wins city swimming championship

The Fletcher Middle School Senators won the Swimming and Diving City Championship for both boys and girls May 13 at the Cecil Aquatic Center. The girls swim team won with 461 points while the boys swim team won with 384 points. In addition, C.

Jax Beach Ladies Golf Association champions named

Jacksonville Beach Ladies Golf Association club champions are Marijane Boyd and Jeri Roche. In a recent two-day competition, Boyd took home the net win with a total net score of 132 while Roche brought home the gross win with a total gross score of 162.

Safe Boating Week announced

The North Florida Marine Association reminds all boaters, fishermen and water enthusiasts that National Safe Boating Week will be held from May 20 through 26. The annual week-long event encourages all boaters to brush up on boating safety skills and to prepare for the upcoming boating season.

18th Annual Spring for the Arts raises more than $800,000

The Cathedral Arts Project (CAP) held its 18th annual Spring for the Arts  April 21 at Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club. The organization’s fundraiser raised $805,449 in support of arts education for children and youth in Northeast Florida.
