Explore the beach at the GTM Research Reserve

Join volunteers at the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve Saturday, Aug. 19, for a beach exploration from 9 to 11 a.m. Attendees can collect seashells, search for shark teeth and learn about coastal wildlife.

'Murder Ballad' opens at Players by the Sea

All Beaches Experimental Theatre presents the musical “Murder Ballad” on the Players by the Sea main stage at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, with matinee performances at 2 p.m. Sundays, through Aug. 27. “Murder Ballad” is a rock opera-style musical by Julia Jordan and Juliana Nash.

Jax Beach team qualifies for Cal Ripken World Series

The Jacksonville Beach Baseball Association (JBBA) recently announced the 10U All-Star team has qualified for the 2023 10U Cal Ripken World Series. The Barracudas will represent Jacksonville Beach and the state of Florida as they travel to Crown Point, Ind., for the tournament.

Beaches Nature Therapy started Sea Walker Beach and Surf Camp this year to help introduce surfing to all kids, including those with ADHD, anxiety and behavioral disorders who may struggle in typical camps.
