Fletcher defeats Jackson in football

Fletcher High School defeated Jackson 7-0 Sept. 8 at home. The lone touchdown came late in the third quarter from a run by Dre Harold, with the extra point kicked by Beau Keller.

St. Johns County hosting public comment meetings on World Golf Village

FWC hosting Florida State Fish Art Contest

19th Annual Halloween Doors & More will be held Oct. 14

First Coast Dancing with the Stars set for Sept. 16

The Beaches Fine Arts Series will host its annual fundraiser Sept. 16 at WJCT, 100 Festival Park Ave., Jacksonville, at 7:30 p.m. Local dignitaries will be paired with dancing professionals at The First Coast Dancing with the Stars Gala.

The 3rd annual Florida Fin Fest is being presented Friday and Saturday at Latham Plaza in Jacksonville Beach. The festival features live music, environmental panel discussions and interactive learning experiences.

MorganStrong 5k is Saturday in Hanna Park

The 2nd annual MorganStrong 5k will be held Saturday at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park, 500 Wonderwood Dr. in Atlantic Beach. Entrance fees are $35, and registration is available until 11:59 a.m. Sept. 15. A one-mile fun run/walk will also be held at 8 a.m.

Weather looking great for inshore action

The tropics are active again this week, with major Hurricane Lee pumping out swell towards the entire East Coast. Locally, look for fun surf and maybe some coastal erosion, but no other impacts.
