FWC approves two-part lionfish removal effort for 2016

At its April 13 meeting in Jupiter, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) approved a two-part lionfish plan to further encourage removals of the invasive species in 2016.

Ponte Vedra softball falls in 12 innings

Changes in parking for The Players

New to The Players this year is a significant change in how fans obtain parking passes on competition days (Thursday to Sunday).  As part of The Players efforts to plan efficiently for the number of parking spaces needed per day, parking must be purchased in advance.

Ponte Vedra boys lacrosse upended in state title game

JUPITER — Almost perfect. That sums up the season for Ponte Vedra High boys lacrosse following a 13-11 loss to Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas in April 30’s state championship game.

Danny Witt junior tennis camps begin in June

Danny Witt summer junior tennis camps will take place beginning in June. The Witt Tennis Camps are a developmental program for ages 6 and up. This is the most comprehensive junior development program on the First Coast.  All camps will begin on June 6.

Jaguars draft recapped

The Jacksonville Jaguars selected seven players in the 2016 NFL Draft, which was held at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University in Chicago from April 28-30. Of the seven, six are defensive players in addition to a quarterback.

Heroes on the Water helps local veterans

Inshore, the spotted sea trout bite has been on fire recently. Anglers are reporting catches of trout nearing 30 inches during the night-time bite.  Jonathan Clark headed out one evening recently and brought home a nice trout dinner. Jonathan was working the docks in the St.

Players upgrades course, venues

The 2016 Players Championship will introduce a number of upgrades around the course and many new venues as well and more fans than ever are expected to be coming from all over the world.
