The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed defensive tackle Sheldon Day to his rookie contract. The Jaguars selected Day in the fourth round (103rd overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. Day, 6'1", 293 pounds, started 32 of 48 games during his four-year career at Notre Dame.

Sophie Falzone returned from a week in Hawaii with the ESA All-Star team and a three-week training session in Costa Rica in time for the King of the Hill Pro/Am in North Florida, where she took the win in both Girls & Jr. Women, and placed third in the king of the hill Women's Pro.

Beaches Aquatic Center's Swim Team Clinic began May 3 and is a 45-minute program for three months. It takes place Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. The three-month program teaches the skills necessary to compete on a swim team.

The 30th annual Dancin’ in the Street Festival will kick off Saturday, May 21, at 11 a.m. at the Beaches Town Center, located at the ocean end of Atlantic Boulevard. Events for the one-day festival are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The offshore bite has still been very good this week. Frank Joura headed out to the ledge last Saturday with his daughter, Caroline, and buddy Ken Wright aboard the “Wright On.” Frank caught a 30-pound bull dolphin, Caroline a 28-pound kingfish, and Ken a 14-pound mahi.
