Caribfest celebrates art, music, food and more

Caribfest 2016 will take place Saturday, June 18, at the Jacksonville Landing. One Caribbean, Inc. presents the festival in celebration of Caribbean Heritage Month.  The festival will feature attractions such as live music, food vendors and art displays.

Sharks announce fan bus to Tampa

The Jacksonville Sharks announced this week that the team will offer a fan bus to Tampa on Saturday, June 11, providing two-way transportation for fans wishing to watch the Sharks face off against the Tampa Bay Storm. Kickoff at Amalie Arena is set for 5 p.m.

Jaguars announce 2016 veteran minicamp information

The Jacksonville Jaguars will hold a three-day mandatory veteran minicamp from June 14-16 at the practice fields adjacent to EverBank Field.  Practice sessions on Tuesday, June 14 and Wednesday, June 15 will be free and open to public. To attend, fans should register in advance online at www.

Flood tide attracts many reds and sheepsheads

Late spring and fall in Jacksonville brings the flood tide, a gift for local inshore anglers. Around the new and full moons, tides may reach heights over 5.2 feet. This will push water into areas of the marshes that are usually dry.

Two Fletcher High seniors sign sports scholarships

Signing a scholarship to play sports at the college level is every high school athlete’s dream. For Fletcher High seniors Randy Gadson and Adler Guinn, it’s much bigger than just a dream. It’s a blessing.

Sawgrass Country Club members support golf scholarship fund

Through contributions from its members, Sawgrass Country Club raised $12,040 in 2016 to support the Jacksonville Area Golf Association (JAGA) scholarship trust fund.

Ponte Vedra Croquet Club welcomes experts and newcomers

This isn’t your childhood croquet. Two years ago, The Ponte Vedra Croquet Club became a reality for John Curington, when he purchased almost four acres off Mosquito Control Road in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Vilano pier closed until 2017

Summer Jazz Series lineup announced

The city of Jacksonville Beach, PRI Productions, 96.1 WEJZ and WJXT Channel 4 have announced the line-up for the 15th Annual Summer Jazz Series. The two-concert series is scheduled for Sunday evenings from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Sea Walk Pavilion on June 12 and July 10.
