'Haunt Nights' returns to Adventure Landing

"Haunt Nights" is being held on select dates through Oct. 31 at Adventure Landing, 1944 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach. "Haunt Nights" features Northeast Florida’s only 3d haunted house, Apocalypse 3d: Clown Takeover. Haunt Nights also features Containment, Pinehurst Asylum  and Descent.

Fletcher wins Gateway Conference Golf Tournament in playoff round

Fletcher boys took the Gateway conference title, winning a sudden death playoff hole over Stanton Prep. The Senators shot a 19 on Hole 1 at Blue Sky Golf Club, thanks to birdies by Kyle Horton and Brayden James, good for one shot better than the 20 Stanton penciled in.

Sharks come out on top in golf Tournament of Champions

The Sharks traveled to Providence Golf Club in Davenport, Fla., recently to participate in the Qdoba Tournament of Champions, a tournament made up of teams that placed in the top three in their respective state tournaments in divisions 1A, 2A and 3A, plus a wildcard.

Senators shut out First Coast in district win

Fletcher put itself in a great spot in the race for the state playoffs Sept. 30, picking up its second District 2-7A victory of the season with a 28-0 win over visiting First Coast High.

Cirque du Soleil cancels two performances of OVO in Jacksonville

Due to weather forecast warnings on the expected path of Hurricane Matthew and in the interest of safety for its audience members and employees, Cirque du Soleil will cancel the performances of Ovo tonight and tomorrow, Oct. 6 and 7, at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.

Armada-Indy match postponed amid Hurricane Matthew concerns

The North American Soccer League (NASL) has postponed the Jacksonville Armada-Indy Eleven match that was scheduled to be played at Community First Park in Jacksonville on Saturday night because of the impending weather concerns caused by Hurricane Matthew, the league office announced Wednesday.

Charity Poker Run canceled

The 4th annual Charity Poker Run, originally scheduled to be held Saturday, Oct. 8., has been canceled. There are currently no plans to reschedule the run.

St. Johns County adult beach volleyball leagues forming
