Jacksonville Beach officials are moving ahead to develop a strategic plan to help identify future goals for the city. City officials will bring in an outside consultant to help distill the information gathered during a series of community conversations into a viable vision for the city.

FWC officers make arrests for poached wildlife

Earlier this year, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers made the first arrests in a series, which now totals seven suspects and 25 felony charges with additional arrests forthcoming.

Singleton's Seafood Shack required to install new sprinkler system

Like most restaurants, Singleton’s was hit hard by the COVID pandemic. The owners of the rustic seafood shack in the Mayport fishing village are fighting to reopen the doors after remodeling the rear prompted city officials to halt construction.

Santa Claus coming to Beaches Town Center

St. Johns County Public Library hosting Giving Trees

The St. Johns County Public Library is hosting St. Johns CARES, Inc., Giving Trees at four branch library locations through Dec. 9. Each Giving Tree contains wish ornaments that are submitted by local nonprofit organizations serving veterans, senior citizens, children, the homeless and animals.

Flagler Hospital COVID-19 testing site closed Nov. 27

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the Flagler Hospital COVID-19 testing site will be closed on Friday, Nov. 27. The site will re-open for free COVID-19 testing Monday, Nov. 30. Testing is available from 7 to 11 a.m.
