Schools closed, activities canceled due to storm

CPSC issues carbon monoxide warning regarding Hurricane Ian

Planning for the aftermath of Hurricane Ian is critical. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is alerting consumers in the path of this dangerous storm about the risks of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning from portable generators and other post-storm hazards.

St. Johns County under hurricane watch

The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane watch for St. Johns County on Wednesday, Sept. 28, in anticipation of Hurricane Ian.

St. Johns County provides free sandbags to residents

St. Johns County is providing free sandbags at six locations throughout the county – including Palm Valley – in preparation for Hurricane Ian. The sand and the bags provided are free of charge. Residents must provide their transportation and shovels and are responsible for filling their bags.

District urges preparedness as forecast puts Florida in hurricane path
