Adventure Landing project gets approval

The Jacksonville Beach City Council Monday voted to move forward with a new residential project slated for the Adventure Landing site. Officials approved the rezoning request in a 6-1 vote following nearly three hours of discussion to attach conditions to the Planned Unit Development designation.

Jaguars owner purchasing properties in Neptune Beach

Changes are on the horizon for Beaches Town Center. Shad Khan, owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham Football Club, announced recently that he plans to purchase the Lemon Bar, Seahorse Oceanfront Inn and “nearby properties” in Neptune Beach.

Beach Bash to raise funds, awareness for affordable housing

Beaches Habitat for Humanity, a local 501(c)3 affordable housing non-profit, has opened ticket sales for Beach Bash, the organization’s annual signature event. This year, Beach Bash will return to the beach, starting at 6 p.m. Oct. 24 at Atlantic Beach Barbeque (ABBQ).

Portions of central Florida received more than 20 inches of rainfall in September

A majority of the St. Johns River Water Management District received well above average rainfall in September thanks to Hurricane Ian. County-wide rainfall totals for the past 12 months ranged from a high of 72.3 inches in Seminole County to a low of 29.9 in Nassau County.

Beaches Watch seeks nominations for 'Give Back' program

The Beaches Watch Board of Directors is requesting nominations for the 13th Annual Beaches Watch "Give Back" donation. This $500 donation recognizes a nonprofit organization that enriches the lives of beaches residents. Nominations should be submitted by midnight Sunday, Nov.
