Recycle Christmas trees with St. Johns County 'tree-cycling' program

Help reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and recycle your Christmas tree with St. Johns County’s Christmas Tree-cycling Program. Residents are encouraged to bring their real trees to designated county sites for recycling into mulch for St. Johns County parks.

St. Johns County issues Christmas holiday office hours

All St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners and administrative offices, the Property Appraiser’s office, the Tax Collector’s office, and the Supervisor of Elections’ office will be closed Friday, Dec. 24, and Monday, Dec. 27, in observance of the Christmas holiday.

Beaches Go Green holds Town Center cleanup

The Beaches Go Green recent cleanup of the Beaches Town Center had more than 85 students and volunteers taking part. Atlantic Beach Elementary, Discovery Montessori, Mandarin High School, Jax Beach Elementary, Fletcher Middle School and Mayport Middle School were represented at the cleanup.

Water district waives fee to plug abandoned artesian wells

The St. Johns River Water Management District has waived any associated fees to plug eligible abandoned artesian wells within the district’s 18-county region. Prior to Nov. 9, 2021, property owners would pay $600 for the district to plug a free-flowing well.
