St. Johns County libraries hosting pet food and bedding drive

The St. Johns County Public Library is hosting a St. Johns CARES, Inc., pet food and bedding collection drive at four branch library locations March 7 through March 25. Patrons are encouraged to bring pet food, towels and blankets to assist in restocking local animal shelters and food pantries.

St. Augustine Lions Spring Festival will be held March 26 and 27 

The annual St. Augustine Lions Spring Festival returns to downtown St. Augustine Saturday and Sunday, March 26 and 27. Formerly called the Seafood Festival, it has been rebranded and refreshed. This festival is the cornerstone of the local Lions Club’s fundraising efforts every year.

Jacksonville Beach police seeking help in shooting death

Investigators are asking for help to identify the shooter who killed a father of four last week in the Lake Sanctuary neighborhood of Jacksonville Beach. The Jacksonville Beach Police Department has identified the victim as 33-year-old Jared Galen Bridegan.

St. Johns County COVID-19 testing site closed Sundays

The St. Johns County COVID-19 testing site located at the Wind Mitigation Building is now closed on Sundays due to a decrease in testing numbers. The testing site remains open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information, call 904-295-0562.

Lighthouse a welcoming place for women veterans

As Deloris Quaranta was leaving The Lighthouse in Jacksonville Beach after an interview, she noticed the plants on the back porch had been hit by the recent cold weather.  She said she would have to take them home to get them back to full life.

Dancer is living his dream in 'Cats'

Growing up as a dancer, Paul Giarratano had never seen a performance of "Cats." Still, he knew that landing a role in the beloved production would be a dream come true. Now playing the role of Mr. Mistoffelees in the national touring production of "Cats," he is quite literally living the dream.
