Public invited to virtual Northern Recreational Public Meeting April 26

A land management update is among the items to be discussed Tuesday, April 26, during the St. Johns River Water Management District’s Northern Recreational Public Meeting. District staff will receive comments from the public during the meeting and via email at NorthernRecreationComments@sjrwmd.com.

Developers want to create boardwalk on Adventure Landing property

Developers of a 427-unit residential project proposed for the Adventure Landing location are seeking to create a publicly accessible boardwalk to the wetlands south of the park site. A portion of the property located at 1944 Beach Blvd.

St. Johns County hosts second growth management workshop

The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is hosting a second Growth Management Workshop to continue discussions on how to manage future growth and address infrastructure needs. Residents and stakeholders are invited to provide comments after county staff completes their presentations.

PVHS students clean up Mickler Beach

More than 40 volunteers from the Ponte Vedra High School Beaches Go Green Club turned out recently to clean up Mickler Beach and spread environmental awareness about pollution on the Beaches. After cleaning for two hours, PVHS BGG Club members collected six bags of waste.

Adventure Landing staying open through May

Adventure Landing in Jacksonville Beach will remain open through the end of May. Owner Hank Woodburn confirmed March 29 that he was granted a third lease extension and hopes to receive a fourth, possibly through the end of the summer season.

Scout Nicholas Storm creating conservation garden for the future

A freshman at Ponte Vedra High School, Nicholas Storm said his favorite class was biotechnology. He attended a five-day conservation camp last summer at The Rattlesnake Conservancy at Tree Hill Nature Center.

BEAM hosting grand reopening of Mayport Pantry

The Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry (BEAM) now provides expanded access to services with a new satellite location in Atlantic Beach. BEAM will host a grand reopening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at their newly-expanded Mayport Pantry and Service Center at 2 p.m.
