The Exchange Club of Jacksonville Beaches has selected seniors Storm Mullecker and Thomas Arsenault of Fletcher High School as recipients of 2022 Accepting the Challenge of Excellence (A.C.E.) award.

Atlantic Beach helps collect donations for Ukrainian refugees

Ukrainian families fleeing their war-torn country will receive help to start a new life along the First Coast. Community volunteers in partnership with Atlantic Beach delivered two trailers of donated household items this week to Catholic Charities Jacksonville.

Jax Beach police respond to shootings near Brix

Shots were fired Sunday night near the Brix Taphouse in Jacksonville Beach. Police responded at 10:21 p.m. to a report of gunshots in the parking lot north of Brix Taphouse at Second Street and Second Avenue.

Applications now Accepted for Independent Agency Funding Program

St. Johns County Health and Human Services is accepting applications for the Independent Agency Funding Program through 3 p.m. on Friday, June 3. This program aims to provide funding for local nonprofit agencies that provide social services to St. Johns County residents.

Fletcher teacher recognized by DAR

The Jean Ribault Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented Fletcher High School teacher Johnna Lyn Conover the Jean Ribault 2022 Outstanding American History Teacher Award and the North East Florida Regents Council DAR Award at the April 14 chapter meeting.

Fletcher All-Class Block Party is Saturday

The Fletcher All-Class Block Party will be held Saturday, April 30, at the Beaches Museum from 6 to 10 p.m. This will be a gathering for Fletcher graduates, faculty and supporters from across the decades to reminisce and celebrate Duncan U. Fletcher High School.

Seven Fletcher High School senior softball girls were celebrated by their coaches, parents and teammates April 11. The ceremony was conducted by the Head Coach Jerry Shepherd, and Assistant Coaches Gordie Rolison and Carlos Sotolongo.
