Pet Expo set for May 28-29

The 2022 Jacksonville Pet Expo will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29, at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center, 1000 Water St., Jacksonville. There will be live animal shows, pet adoptions, grooming contests, pet experts, and exhibitors for home and pet services.

Palatka Blue Crab Festival features live music and entertainment

The Palatka Blue Crab Festival will be held Friday, May 27, from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday, May 28, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday, May 29, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. in downtown Palatka, 210 St. Johns Ave. Admission and parking are free.

Atlantic Beach Elementary welcomes Dragons of the World

Students will embark on a magical journey with Dragons of the World at Atlantic Beach Elementary. Sponsored by the school’s Cultural Arts Department, the interactive event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 19 with various activity stations across the campus.

Exchange Club selects 2022 Students of the Year

The Exchange Club of Jacksonville Beaches has selected Fletcher High School seniors Billye Frost and Seth Allen, and Ponte Vedra High School seniors Cate Rosa and Ben Arthur, for its 2022 Student of the Year awards.

Boardwalk Talk will feature Tim Gilmore

"Channeling Anna Fletcher" is the subject of Tim Gilmore's upcoming Boardwalk Talk at the Beaches Museum. The talk is free to museum members with a suggested donation of $5 for non-members. Attendance is limited and registration is required. The talk will be presented Thursday, May 19, at 6:30 p.m.

Fletcher High School under boil water advisory

A boil water advisory is in effect at Fletcher High School, according to a recent message issued by the school. Bottled water will be available to students and faculty through the end of the week. Additional details were not provided in the message sent to parents and guardians.

Neptune Beach Elementary holding fundraiser for special needs music program

Differently-abled students at Neptune Beach Elementary are sharing common ground when it comes to the healing power of music. The Connecting Thru Music program is holding a fundraiser to help students with special needs continue to explore the benefits of music therapy.
