Breakers win state championship

The Atlantic Beach Breakers 12U baseball team won the Babe Ruth Small State Championship June 19 in Ft. White. The Breakers went undefeated in the tournament.

FWC to meet in Jacksonville

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will meet in person July 13 and 14 at the Adam W. Herbert University Center, 12000 Alumni Dr., Jacksonville, at 8:30 a.m. each day. The meetings are open to the public. The FWC is committed to providing opportunity for public input.

THE PLAYERS Championship launches 2022 Red Coats Grants program

Through Aug. 5, THE PLAYERS Championship will accept applications for its Red Coats Grants, a program that awards funding to local nonprofit organizations who lead programs and initiatives focused on improving the quality of life for Northeast Florida’s residents.

'Community Cooks!' offers free cooking classes for kids, teens and adults

The St. Johns County Public Library System has announced the “Community Cooks!” culinary literacy program, made possible by a recently-awarded Innovation Project Grant. This new program allows participants of all ages to experience hands-on food preparation in a fun and health-enhancing way.

'Out of Site' wins 2022 Old School Kingfish Tournament

Congratulations to team “Out of Site,” led by Ryan Linsley, on winning the 2022 Old School Kingfish Tournament last weekend with a 43.29-pound fish. Great win in a competitive field with the top 10 fish all over 30 pounds this year.

Houston Bowles named THE PLAYERS 2023 tournament chairman

THE PLAYERS Championship announced June 14 that Houston Bowles has been named its 2023 tournament chairman. Bowles succeeds Matt Welch for the role that oversees the more than 2,000 volunteers who support all elements of the PGA TOUR’s flagship event.
