Kids Fishing Clinic to be held in Daytona

Teaching children a lifelong hobby, instilling appreciation for our marine environment and providing fun, family outings are the objectives for the Kids’ Fishing Clinic in Daytona Beach on March 26.

Free concert coming to Ponte Vedra Library

Ernie Evans and the Florida State Bluegrass Band will perform a free concert on Tuesday, March 22, at the Ponte Vedra Library. The 6:30 p.m. event, which is part of the Gerson Yessin Music Series, is sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Library. Doors open at 6 p.m. Seating is limited.

Tim Tebow golf tournament raises $1 million

The sixth annual Tim Tebow Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic took place March 12 at TPC Sawgrass and raised more than $1 million for the former Nease High QB's charity.

DeLay wins three races at Gateway track

Fletcher High’s Kayley DeLay won three separate races at the recent Gateway Conference championship meet, helping the Senators girls team earn a fifth-place finish. DeLay, a junior, won the 800 meters with a time of 2:25.10. MaryBeth Rowland, of host Mandarin High, was second in 2:27.86.

Ponte Vedra girls win Speziale track meet

Ponte Vedra High’s girls track team won March 5's Speziale Invitational track meet, named in honor of Craig Speziale, the school’s first principal, who passed away in 2014 from complications due to cancer. The host Sharks amassed 174 points to outdistance Creekside’s 128.

'Tuna Does Vegas' at ABET

“Tuna Does Vegas” is running at the Atlantic Beach Experimental Theatre, 716 Ocean Blvd. Tickets are $20. Directed by Cody Russell, the comedy is a new installment from the legendary Greater Tuna creative team of Ed Howard, Joe Sears and Jaston Williams.

Cultural Center hosting wine tasting

The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach’s Friends for the Arts will host a wine tasting on Thursday, March 17, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Table One, located at 330 A1A North. Tickets are $25 and will give attendees the chance to bid on a hand-painted scarf by Jennifer Steinman.
