“Lights Up: 50 Years of Players by the Sea,” opens Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Beaches Museum & History Park, with a reception from 6-8 p.m. The multi-media exhibit celebrates the Jacksonville Beach community theatre’s enduring stage presence as a leader in local performing arts.

Book Talk Cafe is Monday

Florida Book Award-winner Patrick Kendrick is the featured author for the Book Talk Cafe program at the Ponte Vedra Library. A former fire fighter and freelance writer, Kendrick will appear at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22. His books will be available for purchase, and light refreshments will be served.

Navy-Notre Dame tickets now on sale

The American Athletic Conference announced recently that the 2016 Navy-Notre Dame game, which will be played at EverBank Field on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, will kick-off at 11:30 a.m. EST and will be televised nationally on CBS. Tickets for the 2016 game went on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on Feb.

Dettlaff authors commemorative book on the history of the golf professional

While working toward Master Professional status with the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) of America, Billy Dettlaff was required to write a thesis on one aspect of the golf profession. He chose a topic near and dear to his heart: the evolution of the golf professional.

MELBOURNE — Following a scare in the recent semifinals, during which Ponte Vedra boys soccer found itself trailing for the first time all season and in need of a rally to beat Tampa Jesuit, head coach Daniel Villarreal vowed the Sharks’ perfect season would not end in Feb.

SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament tickets now on sale

The Southeastern Conference has announced advanced single-session and weekend mini-package tickets are on sale for the 2016 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament scheduled for March 2-6 at Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville.
