Councilor questions Deck the Chairs organizer

Deck the Chairs received mixed amounts of support at the Jacksonville Beach City Council workshop Monday. Executive director of Deck the Chairs Kurtis Loftus went before the council to discuss the draft agreement between the organization and the city of Jacksonville Beach.

'Blues, Brews and BBQ' will be held Aug. 25

In preparation for the 2016 peak hurricane season from Aug. 25 through Oct. 21, officials from Duval and St. Johns counties met in Jacksonville Beach recently to discuss the Jacksonville area's plan in case of a hurricane.

New alcohol rules are law in Jacksonville Beach

The Jacksonville Beach City Council recently gave final approval to three ordinances designed to tighten up on alcohol sales at restaurants. The ordinances target establishments dubbed "RINOs," or restaurants-in-name-only.
