All Jacksonville Public Library locations are closed until further notice. Early voting and Election Day voting are continuing at this time. Check the Duval Supervisor of Elections site for voting information. For more information regarding the libraries, visit www.jaxpubliclibrary.org.

St. Augustine's Celtic Festival canceled

The Celtic Festival and St. Patrick's parade scheduled for this weekend in St. Augustine have been canceled. If you are planning to attend any St. Patrick's Day celebrations, check with the organizer to find out if the events/actvities are still taking place.

Portion of St. Augustine Beach to close Sunday

St. Augustine Beach, between the southern portion of Anastasia State Park and 8th Street, will be closed during the afternoon Sunday, March 15, for a sand tilling project.

Beaches Energy will begin supplying solar power

Beginning this spring, Beaches Energy will begin supplying solar power to about 10,000 customers as part of the Florida Municipal Solar Project, the largest municipal-backed solar project in the nation.

Thursday Join American Legion Riders Chapter 129 every fourth Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Graffiti Junktion, 265 5th Ave. N., Jacksonville Beach, for Bike Night. There will be free raffle drawings throughout the night, with a portion of proceeds from food purchases donated to benefit veterans.

Leroy Everett receives tribute

The city of Atlantic Beach paid tribute to Sgt. 1st Class Leroy Everett, the city’s only veteran to be killed in the Vietnam War, by dedicating the roadway into Dutton Island Preserve – where he and his childhood friends would fish, hunt, swim and play – to him.

Exchange Club honors Students of the Month

The Exchange Club of Jacksonville Beaches Student of the Month Award program has selected two seniors  each from Fletcher High School and Ponte Vedra High School as Students of the Month for February. Students selected from Fletcher are Carolina Sanchez and Connor Moore.

Atlantic Beach seeking input for changes to sign ordinance

The Atlantic Beach City Commission held a workshop Feb. 24 to consider proposed amendments to the city’s sign code ordinance. City officials are seeking input from the community regarding proposed changes.
