Students from Fletcher and Mayport Middle School were among the recent winners of the Duval County History Fair. Middle and high school students from around the district presented projects related to the National History Day theme “Breaking Barriers in History.”
First Place in the Historical Paper category was Gabriel Annis from Fletcher Middle. Second place in the Individual Exhibit category was Madelyn Martin from Mayport Middle. Third Place in the Group Exhibit category were Savannah Fowler and Sierra Wagner from Mayport Middle. First place in the Group Web site category were Sarah Aquino and Paige Allen from Fletcher Middle.
Students who placed in first or second place earned a spot in the state history fair in Tallahassee this May.
