Longtime editor of 'The Leader' passes away

The Beaches Leader family is mourning the loss of publisher and longtime editor Kathleen Feindt-Bailey, who passed away March 9 after a brief illness.

COVID-19 prompts 'call to action'

City officials in Jacksonville and the Beaches have enacted a series of emergency safety measures, closing city buildings, limiting the number of patrons permitted in an establishment and canceling events through March in an effort to flatten the curve.

Family establishes Michael Girardot Smile Fund

The family of a 21-year-old man killed earlier this year in a car crash is bringing smiles to others in his memory. Michael Girardot died of injuries sustained in a Jan. 27 crash in the 1100 block of 3rd Street North in Jacksonville Beach.

Caroline J. Trussell of Atlantic Beach recently published her debut novel "Love in the City with No J Street," on Amazon. Her story explores issues such as mental health, grief, love and relationships. Trussell is a lifelong Beaches resident and has previously interned with Folio Weekly.
