On Friday, Nov. 6, the St. Augustine Amphitheatre will host The Charlie Daniels Band with special guest The Marshall Tucker Band. Dove and Country Music Association Award-winner Charlie Daniels recorded his self-titled solo album in 1970.

Atlantic Beach police chief stepping down

Atlantic Beach Police Chief Michelle Cook announced that she will step down in a bid for sheriff in Clay County. The Green Cove Springs native filed for the Clay County sheriff position Jan. 8. She is the fifth candidate to file for the position and the second woman in the running.

Jacksonville Beach police deploy new uniform

New uniforms are taking away some of the pain – literally – of being a police officer. Fifteen of Jacksonville Beach’s police officers have been wearing a new vest that allows officers to carry more than 30 pounds of gear more comfortably.

Two Atlantic Beach cities become 'sisters'

Atlantic Beach has a new sister city – albeit an informal designation – with the identically monikered East Coast community of Atlantic Beach, N.C. The relationship was memorialized recently when the two cities’ mayors exchanged proclamations at a town council meeting in Atlantic Beach, N.C.

Her Song strives to restore human trafficking victims to meaningful lives

The belief that human trafficking happens somewhere else is no long viable. The Beaches, in fact, are the target of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s  (JSO's) emphasis in its battle with this crime. Florida ranks third of the 50 states consistently in reports of human trafficking.
