ABE student places first in science fair

Isla Zompa, a fourth grade student at Atlantic Beach Elementary School, was awarded first place in the Duval County Elementary School District Science Fair for the 2019 and 2020 calendar year.
About 250 project boards were displayed at the district-wide competition held at the University of North Florida on Dec. 18.
Zompa’s science fair project, titled “Colors Affect Happiness,” explored how people are affected by color and identified those colors which make people feel the happiest. Judging criteria for project entries included scientific thought, project creativity, scientific concepts, display, and oral presentation.
Zompa’s science teacher and science fair coordinator congratulated Zompa on her accomplishment.
