The beach bike and safety rodeo, originally scheduled for Saturday at the Jacksonville Beach SeaWalk Pavilion, has been canceled due to expected inclement weather.

Tax credits possible for Atlantic Beach site

The site for a proposed condominium project in Atlantic Beach will move forward with efforts to earn a Brownfield Site designation, which would make the site eligible to earn federal and state tax credits to offset pollution cleanup costs.

New owners of ferry to celebrate Saturday

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), the city of Jacksonville, St. Johns River Ferry Commission and Friends of the Ferry will host a celebration Saturday to mark the transfer of ownership of the St. Johns River Ferry.

Wanda Wiggins joins dressage century club

Wanda Wiggins just accomplished one of the rarest feats in equestrian competition. With her long-time equine partner Dusine, Wiggins joined The Dressage Foundation’s Century Club – a club of horse and rider pairs whose combined age totals 100 years or more.

Students team up up for reading

Ocean Palm Elementary students from Elizabeth McCall’s second grade class and Neeti Gregg’s first grade class get together once a week, pair up and spend time reading with a buddy from the partnering class. The students take turns reading and have discussions focused on the books they read.

Gate meeting format is criticized
