Senators to gather for block party

The annual Fletcher All-Class Block Party will be held Saturday, April 23, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Beaches Museum & History Park in Jacksonville Beach. The event brings together Fletcher alumni and supporters from across the decades.

Arts in the Park is Saturday

The 13th Annual Arts in the Park event will take place Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This one-day annual event is sponsored by the Atlantic Beach Cultural Arts & Recreation Advisory Committee.

The 40th annual Sandcastle Contest will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. on the beach at the end of Beach Boulevard. Spaces are still available in some of the categories, and registration is open at the Jacksonville Beach Recreation Department until 4 p.m. Friday. Call 247-6236 for information.

Support Hart Felt Ministries and enjoy contemporary praise music

This weekend, local praise bands will perform in a concert to help elderly citizens stay in their homes. The fund raiser this Saturday, April 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. is for Hart Felt Ministries, a non-profit that helps local seniors who have chronic illness or disability live independently.

Christ Church presents Peter Pan

An adaptation of the classic tale Peter Pan is featured at Christ Episcopal Church. Follow characters Peter Pan, Wendy, Tink and Captain Hook in this timeless story newly adapted for the stage by Jason Woods, featuring new songs, music and one very large crocodile. The show runs through April 24.

Recognizing that tomorrow's history is being made today, the Beaches Area Historical Society has announced the individuals selected to be recognized at its third Beach Legends event on Friday, Sept. 23, at the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse.
