Preview renovations to Sunshine Park this weekend

A two-day community event will be held this weekend to preview upcoming renovations at a popular park in Jacksonville Beach. The city’s Parks and Recreation Department will host the preview from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. tomorrow and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Sunshine Park at 2514 South Beach Pkwy.

Fin Fest will feature live music, food trucks and more

Florida Fin Fest will be held from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the SeaWalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach. The event was established to educate festival-goers about the importance of sharks and their role in the ocean’s ecosystems.

Renovation under way at Beach Bowl

Signs of progress are underway for the  $7.5 million restoration of Beach Bowl location at 818 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville Beach. H&H Enterprises Inc. applied for a building permit Feb. 18 to expand the footprint of the iconic landmark and add a two-story restaurant with rooftop dining.
