COVID rapid testing site opens in Neptune Beach

Responding to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases across Duval County, Telescope Health, a local telehealth provider, announced plans to expand its drive-through service for rapid testing. In partnership with the city of Neptune Beach, the new rapid testing site opened Aug. 2.

Volunteers rescue trapped sea turtle

Volunteers with the Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol worked recently to free a female sea turtle trapped under a walkover in Neptune Beach. On July 26, the female green sea turtle became lodged beneath the handicapped-accessible walkover at the Davis Street beach access.

Although a growing number of businesses are reopening their in-person office spaces, many are maintaining remote workforces or implementing hybrid schedules. While the shift signals steps toward more traditional, familiar work environments, it also presents some challenges.

Beaches experiencing surge in new COVID-19 cases

In early June, Baptist Medical Center Beaches had a single patient hospitalized for COVID. Nearly two months later, that number continues to climb as the Beaches experience a significant surge in new positive cases.

Jax Beach playground getting new equipment ahead of schedule

A popular playground in Jacksonville Beach will receive some much-needed upgrades ahead of schedule. The city’s Community Redevelopment Agency Monday authorized $1.3 million in Southend Tax Increment Funds for the design and installation of new playground equipment at South Beach Park.

This cute, silly goofball is Willie. He is about 2 years old, good with other dogs and is super friendly. Willie was rescued because he was living outside after his owner was evicted. He is being fostered by Fur Sisters, but really needs his "furever" home now.
