Boys & Girls Club members learn to surf

In the fall of 2020, the Beaches Boys & Girls Club joined forces with SurfearNEGRA and members of the local Board Riders Club to introduce the sport of surfing to members.

Christ United Methodist Church supports Methodist seminary in Cuba

Christ United Methodist Church on Penman Road in Neptune Beach held a fund-raising event June 20. Church members sold meals consisting of a Cuban sandwich, a Cuban cookie and chips. With advance advertising, they were able to sell enough sandwiches to raise $800.

Mulan is seeking her 'furever' home

Mulan is a beautiful, female Russian blue who lost her way and ended up in a horrible situation. She came to Mayport Cats with several of her babies, all  in really bad shape. While being lovingly fostered, Mulan fought hard for herself and her family to survive; she lost all but one baby.

Neptune Beach receives APA Florida Award of Excellence

The Florida Chapter of the American Planning Association announced that the city of Neptune Beach has been selected for an APA Florida Award of Excellence in the Best Practices category. Nominations were received from communities across Florida.

Music and family were heartbeat of legendary Jacksonville Beach club

Jacksonville Beach is a decidedly different place than it was 36 years ago when Einstein A Go-Go (EAGG) sat catty-corner along a stretch of First Street. On July 4, 1985, the Faircloth family officially opened the all-ages live music venue at 327 First Street N.

Beaches Go Green Club cleans Mickler Beach

Ponte Vedra High School Beaches Go Green Club officers and members came together July 5 to clean up Mickler Beach after 4th of July festivities. The students collected three bags of trash and a bag of recyclables from the beach.
