Hundreds will climb Bank of America Saturday

Hundreds of supporters have already signed up to climb up 36 flights of stairs at the Bank of America Tower during the American Lung Association’s Fight For Air Climb on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 8 a.m.

Runners and pets take to the beach for Chariots of Fur

The Chariots of Fur 5k run/walk and 1-mile fun run will be held at SeaWalk Pavilion on Saturday, Feb. 2. Runners with and without pets will with gather to participate in the 9th annual event. The run will begin at the Pavilion Lawn, cross over at SeaWalk Pavilion, and continue to 25th Avenue South.

Check fishing, safety gear now to be ready for spring

The fishing has been tough this week – dropping temperatures, constant wind and a steady offshore swell have made it tough on just about everyone. Offshore is off the table until the ocean calms down, and inshore is fishable but miserable with the cold.

FWC Commission provides shrimp fishery update

At its September meeting near Tallahassee, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) approved changes to commercial shrimp fishery management that will eliminate barriers to participation in the expanding live seafood market.
