Gate station waivers up for public hearing

The Atlantic Beach City Commission voted this week to move forward with a public hearing later this month regarding two waiver requests for the Gate Petroleum project at 535 Atlantic Boulevard.

War performance rescheduled

Beaches library to add green space

The Friends of the Beaches Branch Library (FOBBL) board has developed final designs for the Beaches Branch Library Landscape and Ground Improvements project. To cover project costs, the FOBBL raised $25,000 in donations as well as built a partnership with the city of Jacksonville.

Program aims to help older adults age well

At 82, Helen Meyer had to stop driving because she would often get confused to the point that she would literally break down in tears. Helen’s struggles with balance kept her confined to her home, which was the last thing the active, retired auditor wanted.

Tucker appointed to State Advisory Committee

Neptune Beach City Councilor Kara Wade Tucker was recently appointed to the State Advisory Committee for the Education of Exceptional Students.  Tucker was appointed to the committee by Pam Stewart, the former deputy chancellor for educator quality.

Work starts on Atlantic Beach police building

GTM Research Reserve hosts lecture on pollinators

The Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve invites the public to attend the free lecture series, "Afternoon Insight: Pollinators." Lecturer Joan Kramer, master beekeeper, will take participants on a journey of the many butterflies visiting the reserve’s landscapes.
