Kayak tour scheduled at Guana

St. Johns County Parks and Recreation is hosting a two- to three-hour guided kayak tour of Guana Tolomato Matanzas Waterway Thursday, June 23, at 10 a.m. The trip will launch from Six Mile Boat Ramp, which is located six miles north of the Guana Dam off A1A.

A fund raiser event, put on by city employees, was held at Angie’s Subs June 9 for Jacksonville Beach building inspector Jon Hays. The event was to help the family while Hays battles Pancreatic Cancer. Other fund raisers will be upcoming.

Freedom Festival returns to Orange Park

Country music star Aaron Tippin will headline the sixth annual Freedom Festival at Orange Park Mall, 1910 Wells Road, Saturday, June 25, from 5 to 9:30 p.m. There will also be a KidX Club patriotic parade at 6 p.m., a patriotic fly-over and fireworks at 9 p.m.
