St. Johns County Parks and Recreation is hosting a two- to three-hour guided kayak tour of Guana Tolomato Matanzas Waterway Thursday, June 23, at 10 a.m.
The trip will launch from Six Mile Boat Ramp, which is located six miles north of the Guana Dam off A1A.

Fund raiser held for Hays

A fund raiser event, put on by city employees, was held at Angie’s Subs June 9 for Jacksonville Beach building inspector Jon Hays.
The event was to help the family while Hays battles Pancreatic Cancer. Other fund raisers will be upcoming.

Freedom Festival returns to Orange Park

Country music star Aaron Tippin will headline the sixth annual Freedom Festival at Orange Park Mall, 1910 Wells Road, Saturday, June 25, from 5 to 9:30 p.m.
There will also be a KidX Club patriotic parade at 6 p.m., a patriotic fly-over and fireworks at 9 p.m.

Every Wednesday from now until August there will be a Block Party happening in a Neptune Beach neighborhood. Beaches Chapel and School is reaching out to its neighbors with the Wednesday Block Parties. Look for the festivities on the church campus at 610 Florida Blvd.
