History being quietly made at Mayport Presbyterian Church

Their's isn't the largest church at the Beaches and it may not be the smallest, but this congregation has other statistics to their credit. The faithful of Mayport Presbyterian Church, 1300 Palmer, have roots. Many were born and raised right here in the community where they worship each Sunday.

Survey on Mayport Road future now open to citizens

The city of Atlantic Beach is conducting an online survey to gather citizen input for the proposed Mayport Road Redevelopment Plan.  The survey is based on goals identified by the city's Technical Advisory Committee, which the citizens are asked to rate by preference.

Chabad celebrates another year in style

Beaches Photography Club meets Tuesday

The Beaches Photography Club meets Tuesday, June 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Beaches Branch Library, 600 Third St., Neptune Beach. The program will be “Photographer Safety and Self Defense,” presented by Tara Wildes and James Bowen, photographers with Fieldprophoto.

State to detail fix to flooding along A1A in Jacksonville Beach

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public meeting today to discuss proposed drainage improvements for SR-A1A (3rd Street) from Seagate Avenue to Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville Beach. FDOT is proposing outfall improvements for the purpose of reducing flooding on A1A.

Recruiting battalion changes command

The Jacksonville Army Recruiting Battalion will conduct a change of command ceremony June 3, at 9:30 a.m., between outgoing commander Lt. Col. Sharlene M. Pigg, and incoming commander, Lt. Col. Kevin P. Buettner. The ceremony will take place at TPC Sawgrass, 110 Championship Way, Ponte Vedra Beach.

Ponte Vedra Beach local competes in dancing with stars

Jacksonville’s Dancing with the Stars event will return on Saturday, June 4, as local celebrities will compete to bring home the mirror ball trophy and take the title of Jacksonville’s favorite dancer.

Police ask public to identify armed robbers

Two masked intruders armed with handguns robbed the McDonalds restaurant located at 435 Atlantic Blvd. on Monday at approximately 2:15 a.m. The suspects were wearing black hoodies, black pants, black shoes and ski masks, and had light colored gloves on their hands.
