Slide-A-Thon returns to Adventure Landing

Adventure Landing’s Shipwreck Island Waterpark will host its sixth annual Slide-A-Thon on Friday, May 27, with proceeds to benefit the American Red Cross Volunteer Lifesaving Corp.  Additionally, Adventure Landing will donated $25 per hour to the grand prize winner’s charity of choice.

The Friends of the Library are leading an initiative to update the entrance and lobby area of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, with construction expected to begin this summer.

Kevin Smith comes to Ponte Vedra

The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presents filmmaker, actor and comedian Kevin Smith, with a special pre-release screening of his new teen comedy. “Yoga Hosers.” After the film screening, there will be a question-and-answer opportunity with Kevin Smith live in person.

Local business kicks off Bike the Beaches

Dion Marketing in Jacksonville Beach has launched a new initiative, Bike the Beaches, to promote bike riding for transportation, positive environmental impact, recreation and physical exercise.  The Dion Marketing team has pledged to bike to work every Friday, coining the day as “Active Friday.

14th Annual Sea Turtle Show set

The 14th Annual Sea Turtle Show will exhibit from May 26 through July 4, with the opening reception Friday, May 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. Local, regional and national artists create sea turtle-themed art, with a portion of the proceeds going to The Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol.

Coalition to host candidates
