Frank Allen, Jacksonville Beach native and winner of last year's Chopped at Home Challenge presented by the Food Network and Sargento Cheeses, is back this year to defend his title of Chopped at Home Challenge champion with this year's dish, Cheesy Chicken Tortilla Bites.

Shuttle to run at Mickler's for holiday weekend

With the demand of off-beach parking expected to exceed capacity during the holidays this summer, St. Johns County is offering a free shuttle service to Mickler's Beachfront Park and the St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 28 through May 30 in honor of Memorial Day.

Offices close for Memorial Day

Beaches city halls will be closed on Monday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day, with standard business hours to resume on Tuesday, May 31.  There will be no changes in sanitation services and all regularly scheduled services will take place. All departments of the St.

Investigation continues into drowning death at Guana

Deputies with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office (SJSO) Beach Patrol Unit located a body on Monday morning in the surf, approximately 1.5 miles south of the north parking lot of the Guana State Park and approximately a quarter mile south of where the victim was last seen on Sunday.

The annual Jacksonville Jazz Festival will be held this weekend, May 26 through 29, in the core of Downtown Jacksonville.

Jacksonville Beach city attorney says sign rules should apply equally

Plans to add a boutique hotel, townhomes, restaurants and office space to Beach Marine got final approval May 16. The approval came at the same time city staff pointed out possible violations involving the property’s digital sign, dubbed the “most conspicuous sign” in the city.

VFW Post 3270 sends donation to troops for children

Greater Beaches VFW Post 3270 recently packed up more than 200 Beanie Babies, a collection they received from an anonymous donor to send to troops overseas.
