Jacksonville man dead following attempted home invasion

Jacksonville Beach police continue to investigate an early morning home invasion that left one man dead. On Sept. 21 at about 1:16 a.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of Penman Road North following reports of gunshots.

Bars reopen, hours extended at Beaches

On Sept. 14, local bars reopened and started selling alcohol on their premises, provided they adhere to Phase 2 reopening guidelines. Bars and restaurants in Atlantic, Neptune and Jacksonville Beach may also now remain open until 2 a.m.

St. Johns County extends application deadline for nonprofit grant

St. Johns County (SJC) has extended the deadline to apply for the SJC CARES Nonprofit Grant Recovery Program. The deadline has been extended until Sept. 25 to allow eligible nonprofit agencies additional time to apply for COVID-19 assistance. St.
