Beaches Museum hosting 'Paint the Fence Party'

The Beaches Museum will host a socially distanced “Paint the Fence Party” Sept. 4 and 5, with times available throughout both days. All volunteers and groups are invited to help paint. Supplies will be provided and service hours will be honored.

Blue Jay faces closing in wake of COVID-19

Atlantic Beach creating 10-year plan for parks

Atlantic Beach officials are mapping out projects for a 10-year master plan for city parks improvements. The City Commission Monday heard a list of proposed upgrades including splash pads, pickleball courts and conforming signage. The projects will be prioritized under the city’s Master Parks Plan.

Jacksonville Beach assessing virtual meeting longevity

Virtual meetings are set to continue through September in Jacksonville Beach. The City Council was originally scheduled last week to discuss resuming public meetings in September as the emergency order was scheduled to end.

Beaches Watch to host 'A Conservation with Our Beaches Black Youth'

Beaches Watch will host a virtual meeting called “A Conversation with Our Beaches Black Youth” Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, participants can join the meeting via computer or tablet using the Zoom platform, or they can listen to the meeting via phone.

Repair program announced for senior homeowners

Beaches Habitat has announced its new repair program for senior homeowners in the Beaches communities. Applications will be accepted during the fourth quarter of 2020 for up to $15,000 in home repairs/modifications for qualified senior homeowners.
