A 12-year-old Atlantic Beach girl died Sept. 25 from COVID-19, making her the youngest person in Duval County to succumb to the virus. Elizabeth McNew, a virtual student at Mayport Coastal Sciences Middle School, died after battling the virus for 10 days, according to family members.
