Fletcher High School has banned student athletes from displaying a flag in support of law enforcement on the football field. Since losing his father, Jacksonville Beach Police Cpl. Andy Lavender, in August 2019, Caelan Lavender has opened the school’s football games as a junior lineman running with his teammates carrying the Thin Blue Line flag to honor his dad.
