Atlantic Beach resident continues to recover after accident

An Atlantic Beach family is counting their blessings one day at a time four months after nearly losing their son in a life-threatening car accident. Gabriel Reeves, 20, suffered extensive internal damage including a traumatic brain injury in a single-car accident Nov.

Salvation Army of Northeast Florida receives $5,000

The Salvation Army has been awarded a competitive grant from the Mayo Clinic Community Contributions Program in the amount of $5,000 in support of Groceries PLUS: Nutrition, Health, Hygiene, and Wellness for Hungry Households.

Furever Friends

These two sweet, 5-month-old girls, Stormy and Sunny, have been in foster care for about a month now. They were rescued by Fur Sisters because they were not taken care of properly. They were left infested with fleas which caused an allergic reaction/skin infection.

Jax Beach Easter egg hunt set for April 3

Jacksonville Beach’s 37th Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 3, at the Jacksonville Beach softball fields at Wingate Park. Groups for children 2 years of age and younger, as well as 3- and 4-year-old, will be held at 10 a.m.

Beaches Chapel school and preschoolers celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by dressing in green, doing crafts and having green treats.

The Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra gathered on the patio of Treylor Park restaurant in Nocatee March 22 to commemorate World Water Day. To celebrate, the group marked the end of a fundraising effort for clean water filters in Cambodia.

Tour de Parks returns Saturday to Atlantic Beach

The city of Atlantic Beach will host its annual Tour de Parks, a community bicycle ride to 10 parks in the community, on Saturday, March 27. The event kicks off at 9 a.m., and begins and ends at Russell Park.
