Brunch and Bloody Mary Festival coming in June

The Jacksonville Brunch & Bloody Mary Festival will be held Sunday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. outdoors in Riverside under the Fuller Warren Bridge at the Northbank Riverwalk Artist Square.

Shredding and replenishment event to support those in need

Boys & Girls Club names Youth of the Month

Khaysi Scott Wilson, who attends Atlantic Beach Elementary, was named February Youth of the Month by the Beaches Boys & Girls Club. As a safety patrol, Wilson has a natural tendency to lead. She has a dynamic personality and sense of humor, and loves to dance and sing.

Bookmark hosting virtual author event

In honor of Independent Bookstore Day, The BookMark will host a virtual author event. Award-winning former broadcast journalist Mort Crim, presenting his new memoir, “ANCHORED: A Journalists’s Search for Truth."  The event, brought to you via Crowdcast, will take place Saturday, April 24, at 5 p.m.

St. Johns River Ferry reopens

The St. Johns River Ferry is back in service. The Jacksonville Transportation Authority announced that the ferry would return to full operation after passing inspection and sea trials by the U.S. Coast Guard. Originally, it was tentatively expected to reopen March 15.

Earth Day Art Show seeking submissions

The Word Revolt Art Gallery, in partnership with the Atlantic Beach Environmental Stewardship Committee (ESC), is seeking submissions for the inaugural Earth Day Art Show and Juried Art Competition. Open to artists of all ages, the theme of the event is Sustainable Earth.

Jax Beach city attorney to be placed on leave

Following an emergency meeting, the Jacksonville Beach City Council voted unanimously to place City Attorney Christopher Ambrosio on administrative leave following his arrest for lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 16.

Book sale set for Saturday

The Friends of the Beaches Branch Library will host a $10 bag sale Saturday, April 10, from noon to 4 p.m. Purchase a brown paper bag from FOBBL at the sale for $10 and fill it up with your picks from a selection of gently used books.
