On-beach driving, swimming restricted at Vilano Beach

On-beach driving is prohibited and swimming will be limited at Vilano Beach May 1 and 2 for the Pro Watercross National Tour. Parking and traffic flow in the Vilano Beach area will also be impacted for the duration of the event.

Summer Camps

• The Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve (GTM) has begun registration for "Adventures in the Estuary" summer camp. Estuary and ecology camp weeks will be limited to 15 campers per session with masks and six-foot social distancing required.

Beaches Exchange presents award to AB Police Department

HerSPACE opens in Jacksonville Beach

Female veterans facing the harsh realities of homelessness will receive a helping hand to get back on their feet. The Northeast Florida Women Veterans recently launched an emergency and temporary housing program for female veterans and their children who are experiencing homelessness.

Palm Valley history on display at Bethel Gallery

Bethel Gallery is a small exhibit area that always includes some interesting stories weaving through the artwork. The current exhibit, “Home Sweet Home,” is no exception. Grahl Barkoskie Neitz’s art is drawing and her subject is early Palm Valley.
