Changes will not be made to Atlantic Beach district models

District models will remain intact for prospective candidates in Atlantic Beach. The Charter Review Committee voted unanimously at the April 26 meeting. Committee member Dawn Scott made the motion to retain district boundaries. “Do not change it,” she said.

The Beaches Museum has announced the individuals selected to be recognized at its Beach Legends Gala on Friday, Sept. 15, at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse.

Atlantic Beach hosting speaker series

The Atlantic Beach Environmental Stewardship Committee will host its third Environmental Stewardship Speaker & Salon Series event from 6 to 8 p.m. May 4 in Commission Chambers, located at 800 Seminole Road.

Barriers will continue to separate Publix locations

Concrete barriers blocking the connection of the adjacent Publix supermarkets in Neptune Beach will remain in place. Mayor Elaine Brown said she “wasn’t too pleased” to learn that the owner of the Publix currently operating at 630 Atlantic Blvd.

Atlantic Boulevard/Mayport Road intersection may get mural

Plans are underway for a mural installation at the intersection of Mayport Road and Atlantic Boulevard. On April 17, the City Commission in Atlantic Beach authorized staff to begin seeking requests for proposals (RFPs) for mural content in adherence with the city’s new Vision Statement.
