Deck the Chairs seeking extension from Jacksonville Beach

With the current three-year contract set to expire next year, Deck the Chairs founder Kurtis Loftus asked Jacksonville Beach leaders to renegotiate a new agreement to stage the annual holiday event for the next five years at the Seawalk Pavilion.

Beaches Watch hosting town hall

On Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m., Beaches Watch will host a town hall with state legislators Rep. Kiyan Michael and Sen. Clay Yarborough. The meeting will be held at the Beaches Branch Library, 600 Third Street, Neptune Beach, and is open to the public.

St. Johns County to close 2700 S. Ponte Vedra Blvd. public beach parking lot

On Thursday, Oct. 26, St. Johns County will temporarily close the 2700 S. Ponte Vedra Blvd. public beach parking lot for public safety as crews begin work on the next phase of the FEMA Dune Enhancement Project. The parking lot closure is anticipated to last about three weeks, weather permitting.

Sea & Sky Air Show returns to Jacksonville Beach

The 2023 Sea & Sky Air Show will take to the skies this weekend in Jacksonville Beach. Thousands are expected to flock to the oceanfront for two days of dynamic displays showcasing the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, along with air acts and demonstrations from other military teams.

The Jacksonville Beach city attorney is stepping down after less than two years in the role. Sandra Robinson submitted her notice of resignation Oct. 4; the vacancy is effective Nov. 20.
