Book sale Saturday at Beaches Branch Library

The Friends of the Beaches Branch Library (FOBBL) will hold its last pop-up book sale of the summer Saturday, June 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. It will take place outside in front of the Beaches Branch Library at 600 Third Street, Neptune Beach.

Seawalk Music Festival is this weekend

The Community First Seawalk Music Festival is bringing live music to Jacksonville Beach. The free, two-day event will be held from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the SeaWalk Pavilion with special headliners Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Split Tone.

Ponte Vedra Boulevard closes temporarily

Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) crews will temporarily close Ponte Vedra Boulevard between Solana Road and Corona Road from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 8, 14 and 15 for the installation of new fire hydrants. JEA recommends that motorists utilize State Road A1A as an alternative route.

Alimacani student receives DAR award

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Youth Good Citizenship Award was presented to Alimacani Elementary School fifth-grader Sage Kruse recently. The award is based on honor, service, courage and leadership.

Episcopal celebrates graduates

Episcopal's Beaches Campus celebrated sixth- and fifth-grade graduates separate ceremonies May 19 (sixth) and May 20. Both days began with an art show organized by Gretchen Henson, Beaches Campus art teacher, and celebrated each graduate and their art work this year.

April Youth of the Month named

Cameron Chouinard is the Beaches Boys & Girls Club April Youth of the Month. Audrey Clowe, unit director, and Scott Wiley, program sponsor, presented Chouinard with a $50 gift card.

Vicars Landing presents scholarships to staff members

Vicars Landing Retirement Community in Ponte Vedra presented scholarships for more than $315,000 to student employees this year. Awards of $2,500 to $5,250 were given to assist with education, including to two daughters of employees.

Providence class cleans beach

The Providence Junior Class took the day off from the classroom May 14 to help the Atlantic Beach community – the class members spent the morning walking down Atlantic Beach gathering up harmful waste. Their goal was to make the area a cleaner and safer environment for people and wildlife.
