Weather may make maintenance, boat work preferable to offshore fishing

It’s been a windy week on the water and that trend looks to continue into the weekend. Looking out at the forecast with a chance of tropical development, it’s a good time to do some boat work or get out the surf rods.

Atlantic Beach offering Virtual Recreation Center

Lifeguards preparing for weekend beach traffic

With restrictions lifted for all Duval County beaches, lifeguards are stepping up safety measures in anticipation of weekend crowds. More beach traffic boosts the need for social distancing, but it also increases chances of an emergency and elevates the risk of exposure to COVID-19.

The fishing has been fantastic

After a couple chilly mornings to start May the fishing the has been fantastic the last few days. From the looks of the boat ramps this weekend plenty of you were out there enjoying the sunshine.

It's one of the best times for fishing

The weather has been good and the boat ramps have been slammed. I don’t think I can recall a Tuesday morning where the overflow parking was full by 8 a.m. Long story short, the late spring bite is in full swing and it’s one of the best times for any type of fishing in N.E. Florida.

Beaches open

Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry announced that beaches and parks throughout Duval County will reopen Friday, April 17, at 5 p.m., with restrictions for essential activities only.

Follow local, CDC guidelines to safely catch fish

The lock downs have been extended, but lucky for us in North Florida fishing is still essential and the spring bite is in full swing. I hope everyone is staying safe and sane in these trying times.

New PGA Tour Champions tournament to debut in 2021

The Jim and Tabitha Furyk Foundation, Constellation and PGA TOUR Champions announced a new event set to debut in Jacksonville in 2021. Through a multiyear agreement, the Constellation Furyk & Friends tournament will be held at Timuquana Country Club the week of Oct. 4 through Oct. 10.
