Super Girl Surf Pro Festival comes to Jacksonville Beach

When the first Super Girl Surf Pro was held in 2007 in Mission Beach, Calif., a meager 200 people showed up to the event. Today, the female-centric sports and music festival draws thousands of participants to celebrate the top women making waves in surfing.

Sea turtle nesting will be focus of Beaches Watch meeting

Beaches Watch will host a meeting to provide an update on the 2024 sea turtle nesting season Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Beaches Branch Public Library, 600 Third Street, Neptune Beach. This meeting is open to the public.

Fletcher Swim and Dive Team wins district championship

The Fletcher High School Swim and Dive Team is celebrating its win at the 2024 FHSAA 3A District 2 Championship, held last month in Gainesville. Fleming Island, Orange Park, Clay (Green Cove Springs), Columbia, Middleburg, Ridgeview and Gainesville High Schools also competed.

BookMark hosting local author

The BookMark will host a book signing with local author Ron Whittington from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 220 First Street in Neptune Beach. Whittington will sign copies of his new thriller “In Disguise of the Storm.

Lord of Life's 'Great Pumpkin Patch' open through Halloween

Lord of Life Lutheran Church is holding its 25th Great Pumpkin Patch through Halloween. Located at 276 Roscoe Blvd. N., Ponte Vedra Beach, the church has hundreds of pumpkins in multiple colors and sizes, along with mini pumpkins, gourds, jams, pickles and baked goods, including pumpkin pies.
